Warnings About Free Software
This tutorial is not about how to steal software! There are plenty of free and legal software download options. Here is a quick list of ways you can get software: Kazaa Lite, Download.com, NoNags.com. I'll go into more detail about other free software and music download sources in just a bit. Software Piracy is ILLEGAL! Please don't steal, it's low class, deprives creative diligent people of their income and is generally lame. Besides these obvious facts, most stolen software or free software have nasty suprises in them. You could uknowingly install back door trojans and similar viruses that will slow down your computer and record your keystrokes!
Here is the Legal, Free Software
Ad Aware - This program helps you to get rid of popups and trojans. It's free, they donate to charity, it's the tool I install on every customer's computer. Try it!
Spybot - Another program that gets rid of popups and trojans. Must have! It's free too. They also have other software for free on their site for security minded people.
Spybot and Ad aware fix most Kazaa related problems
Download ZoneAlarm Pro Here - zonealarm has several versions, one of them is free and works fine for most users. If I was going to purchase one, zonealarm is definately the one I'd use. If your computer doesn't have a firewall you are at risk of being hacked. Get a free firewall from zonealarm.
Ulra Edit - Hands down, this is the best programming editor I've ever seen. It's simple enough to use without reading a manual and has enough features not to need any other program. I regularly use it for just about everything. While it's not free, it's worth every penny. I believe there is a free trial period though.
Free Anti Virus Software
Price Watch - If you are looking for an anti virus software program I'd recommend that you buy it wholesale. Do a search for "OEM Mcafee 7" You should find it for about $8 a year. You just can't beat that price. It's almost $60 in the stores. There are other legal software you can purchase here too, it's where we shop for our customers.
AVG - Grisoft has a free virus scanner, although I've never used it. If you can't afford $8 for Mcafee, you should at least be using this one.

What is Kazaa?
Kazaa is a program that lets many users each share files with each other. Kazaa in itself isn't that bad, although if you install Kazaa you will get a few hidden programs that monitor what you do too ( why I hate Kazaa ). What makes Kazaa bad is that most people will share files and mp3s illegally. It is unlikely that a small user who downloads one or two mp3s will ever be punished. The whole idea of an organized group of people that steal from other people is sort of gut wrenching. I propose that if you MUST steal music and software, that if you use it more than a few times, please buy it. Many times if you contact the author and let them know that you want their software but cannot afford it, they will give you a discount. If you install Kazaa you will most likely get several viruses from files that are shared. We recommend that you stay away from Kazaa and other file sharing programs.
Kazaa lite is a copy of Kazaa written by other authors. It doesn't have the guaranteed spyware added to it, but the risk is the same for getting infected if you share files. Kazaa and Kazaa lite are EXTREMELY popular, unfortunately.
